We just rescued the cutest collie/terrier mix from the wonderful Baja Dog Rescue. If you live in southern California, and are considering getting a dog, please visit their website! Most of these dogs are found wandering the streets and starving. They are at the sports arena area Petco every Saturday with wonderful dogs that need loving homes.
Here is a sneak peek at some of the deliciousness we cooked up over the holidays. We decided to tackle a Lasagna Verde alla Bolognese – from scratch! Dad and Karl rolled out sheet after sheet of spinach lasagna noodles while I tended to the slow cooked bolognese sauce. It was truly the most delicious lasagna our family had ever tasted. Molto buono!
Our office is now closed for the holidays! A big hug to all of our clients, both old and new – it’s truly been a pleasure working with you! It’s been such a fantastic year of work; we look forward to the new projects 2012 will bring!
We’ll have some exciting news to share in the new year as well. Kymera will be featured in a design book and magazine! We’ll add those items to this page when they are released! I’ll also be adding new print materials to our portfolio before we return in January – so keep an eye out!
wishing you a jolly holiday season filled with reindeer & candy canes,
Gina & Karl
Here is a sneak peek at Adam Seward’s new letterpress business cards. These were so much fun to design! We added a green edge to the super thick Crane’s Lettra paper. These, and a bundle of other print materials, will be added to our portfolio by mid December.
As Thanksgiving approaches I am reminded of how thankful Karl and I are that we get do what we love each and every day. And to all of our wonderful past, present and future clients…we adore you and hope we have created something truly special for you.

We have been busy working on several Fitness/Wellness websites throughout the summer and now into fall. We will be adding 2 of these (a personal trainer and a fitness gym) to our portfolio in the next few weeks as they wrap up.
We’ve had a lot of experience in these fields; having created identities and websites for yoga studios, gyms, trainers, and all matter of holistic health specialists. It’s a thoroughly inspiring group of industries to design for and we have a blast creating exciting identities for them all.
We are fortunate to live and work in San Diego; an area where the people are very outdoorsy and take pride in adopting healthful lifestyles. Karl and myself enjoy hiking, rock climbing, yoga (and even a little trapeze!). This definitely informs our designs and approach as we set our clients apart from their competitors.
I have been obsessed with these tasty cookies ever since my first Delta flight as a teenager. These cinnamon-y beauties are the perfect treat. Donations of Biscoff cookies can be mailed directly to our studio!
This past weekend, Karl and I headed over to lovely Napa for the annual Benedetto Miner Winer Concert. Each year my dad, who makes Benedetto Guitars, makes a guitar for winemaker Dave Miner in exchange for a Benedetto Wine. What a great deal! The guitar is also stained in the same wine – pretty cool! To celebrate this release Dave hosts a jazz concert under the stars at his winery. It’s always a thrill to be sipping Benedetto wine and watching Benedetto guitar players!
We also managed to eat and drink our way through Napa; what a blast! Here are some snippets from our trip.

The stage was gorgeous!! Wine barrels stacked high and fantastic lighting!

The sun setting during the concert. Such a beautiful evening. (my dad is on my left

Outside Michael Chiarello’s Bottega, where we had the most delicious lunch!!

To die for Zepolle with meyer lemon curd.

Peeking into the Bottega kitchen before lunch – where the pasta magic happens!

Oxbow Market – more yummy food & wine!
